With the backing of the 2025 performing arts fund, the esteemed Cultural Center LEADERA is pioneering a groundbreaking research project aimed at safeguarding the memory of Penquista theater. The Chilean Theater Archive integrates theoretical frameworks like critical regionalism and comparative theater. This approach helps dismantle territorial hierarchies of knowledge and offers a plural reading of the poetics developed in contemporary Penquista theater, independent of centralist canons.

The results are expected to serve as valuable educational inputs for students, teachers, and artistic programs, and will be accessible via a public web platform.
Public Access and Engagement
The project will culminate in the creation of a public access web platform, democratizing access to the rich cultural heritage. This will ensure that future generations of artists, researchers, and cultural communities have a valuable tool for future exploration and historical context.
